Brendan F Doyle

is a sound designer, engineer, and artisan working in live performance and fixed media, with a passion for storytelling through sound. With his MSc in Sound Design from the University of Edinburgh and a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from Emerson College, he has crafted intricate, immersive, and intimate soundscapes in bars, basements, theatres, chapels, concert halls, improvised venues of all sorts, and across the internet. He is a proud member of USA 829.

He enjoys making his own loudspeakers, microphones, signal processors, music and other sounds. He particularly enjoys designing systems to help others in their own creative endeavors and spreading knowledge.

This website contains samples and excerpts of some of the creative endeavors he has been involved in, in a variety of capacities across disciplines. Because of the collaborative nature of most of this work, these recordings and images represent the collaborative efforts of many people. Collaborators are credited following the model most commonly accepted in the relevant field; most often as a live theatrical production. This method does not always include the entirety of the performers, engineers, technicians, programmers, operators, interns, students, managers, and other support artists and staff members involved in each production. Apologies are offered here for those oversights.

For some of these projects, these samples are the only record that remains of the performance; while other projects are documented more completely elsewhere, or available for purchase or licensing in various markets. Therefore, any distribution, commercial or otherwise, of the recordings, images, or other materials on this website would be unethical, and in some cases a violation of local laws.
